Mendocino Mayhem in the National Forest!

It would appear that it was a especially brutal week up in the Emerald Triangle as An enormous marijuana farm was found in California's Mendocino National Forest, an area so well-known for its pot plantations that it's called the Emerald Triangle. California police arrested 100 people allegedly cultivating a 900,000-acre marijuana plantation and seized 1,500 pounds of pot, 27 guns, and 11 vehicles. The Mendocino County Sherif said it didn't appear the farm was being used to grow medical marijuana. U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag said that 25 people were already facing federal charges.

In spite of  Proposition 215 being passed in 1996, which allows a physician to recommend cannabis to a patient with a serious and chronic medical condition. This law only provides patients with a legal defense for possession and cultivation. It does not provide immunity from arrest.
Senate Bill 420, passed in 2002, allows patients to voluntarily register with the State of California Department of Health Medical Marijuana program and receive a state ID card (for a fee). It is a state card issued through the county offices. Registering with the state provides immunity from arrest for the possession and cultivation of medical cannabis.

Can Medical Marijuana Help With Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome that is difficult to diagnose and whose cause is unknown. Patients have symptoms of musculoskeletal pain, chronic fatigue, and tender spots in the neck, spine, shoulders and hips. Patients may also have morning stiffness, insomnia, and irritable bowel syndrome. The pain is often debilitating and not very well controlled by conventional medications. Subsequently, many patients also develop symptoms of depression and anxiety. Fibromyalgia may be caused by immune system problems, disturbance in brain chemistry, sleep disturbances, Epstein-Barr Virus, stress, food allergy, or nutritional deficiencies.
Conventional medications used for fibromyalgia include painkillers (like Vicodin, Percocet, other opioids), muscle relaxers (like Soma or Flexeril), antidepressants, sleeping pills, and antianxiety medications. Many patients have difficulty tolerating the adverse side effects that result from these medications. Side effects include nausea, constipation, excessive drowsiness, lethargy, decreased libido and headache.
Although more studies are needed, a recent study (published in The Journal of Pain Feb 2008) assessed the benefit of nabilone, a man-made form of cannabis, on pain reduction and quality of life improvement in patients with fibromyalgia. Nabilone was found to significantly reduce pain with minimal side effects. Many patients with fibromyalgia have found the same is true for medical marijuana. They find that their pain is reduced or eliminated, their insomnia is cured, and their depression and anxiety are alleviated. Many patients choose to use medical marijuana because they cannot tolerate the side effects of the medication prescribed by their doctor and simply must get relief from the daily pain of their disease.

All of CannaCenters physicians have licenses in good standing and have not had any actions by the Medical Board. Having a letter from a doctor whose has had problems with the Medical Board puts you at risk and the doctor's credibility can be put into question

Something for all to remember You should always check on your doctor before getting your letter of recommendation for medical cannabis. You can get FREE information about your doctor's legitimacy by going to the following link www2.mbc.ca.gov... , enter the doctor's first and last name, and see if they have had any past or current problems with the medical board. Remember that a doctor who has had issues with the medical board is not very credible in court and will not be able to help defend you. You should also ask if you are being seen by a real doctor (MD or DO) as a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner cannot legally give you a medical marijuana recommendation and it will not hold up in court. Many places lie so BE CAREFUL
